About Us

Haese Mathematics, formerly Haese & Harris Publications, is a family-owned publishing company specialising in Mathematics textbooks and accompanying software for schools and students. Founded by classroom teachers in South Australia in 1979, our publications have now reached students in over 175 countries.

The business was started by Bob and Sandra Haese, together with Kim Harris, who worked together to produce textbooks for South Australian schools. These first books were typed on a typewriter and completed with hand-drawn diagrams. Modest beginnings, but teachers were quick to recognise the quality of the content in these early, unpretentious publications. This series was updated overtime to refine the content and reflect curriculum changes.

In 2004, Haese Mathematics launched new textbooks for the IB Diploma Mathematics courses, and was met with an overwhelmingly enthusiastic response. As a result, in 2008, the series was extended to include the Middle Years Programme. New editions are released as the curriculum frameworks are revised, with popular current edition titles for Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme aligned to the most recent changes. Textbooks for these series are supported by additional resources such as fully Worked Solutions, Assessment Tasks and Revision Guides.

In 2009, Haese Mathematics was invited to publish for the new international examination ‘Cambridge IGCSE International Mathematics (0607) Extended’. This was followed by a book for the Core course content, then for the Cambridge Additional Mathematics (4037) course. We are currently working with Cambridge Assessment International Education towards endorsement for our newest publications aligned to updated curriculums for teaching from 2023 onwards.

To support teaching of the uniform Australian Curriculum (introduced in 2010), Haese Mathematics released The Mathematics for Australia series aligned to the requirement. The series now covers Years 1 to 12, with Write-on Workbooks at a Primary level, through to Textbooks and Revision Guides published in conjunction with the Mathematical Association of South Australia for Year 12.

In 2017, we published two books for the revised UK GCE Advanced level (A level) Mathematics course, followed by GCSE Foundation and our future release, GCSE Higher.  All the books are warehoused in our pack and dispatch facility in Bristol, United Kingdom for UK customers.

Recognising the advantages of both traditional textbooks, and digital learning, our printed titles are supported by Snowflake, our online learning platform. Custom designed to support mathematical education, the platform houses digital formats of our titles supported with interactive features, such as voiced-over Self Tutor Examples, Graphing Package and more.

The outstanding characteristic of our company is an unrelenting commitment to produce the best possible resources for mathematics education in schools. We are great believers in the value of global education and its importance in producing a more peaceful world. To this end, in 2013 we began sponsoring the Central Asia Institute and its mission to provide schools in areas lacking infrastructure. At the same time we also wish to acknowledge elite students and encourage their further academic development. We are therefore proud to be sponsors of the World Mathematics Championships, and the High Four Mathematics Competition.
